NEW TORONTO

January 31, 2018

New Toronto is located in the south-west area of Toronto, along Lake Ontario. The Town of New Toronto was established in 1890, which was designed and planned as an industrial centre. New Toronto amalgamated into the Borough of Etobicoke, and eventually amalgamated into Toronto but the neighbourhood has retained the name.

The local industry has gradually been replaced with new home developments which are attracting more professional people to this neighbourhood. New Toronto (lakeshore village) has turned into a thriving community with a wide range of business supported by the local BIA to provide shops and services to the locals.

New Toronto is also home to the Toronto Police College training facility and Humber College. You will also find some of the best parks, recreation centres and outdoor spaces overlooking the city.
