Brechin is a small community (population 9,488) 2 hours North East of Toronto, located in the township of Ramara on the North, East end of Lake Simcoe in Simcoe County.

Brechin is one of the townships largest communities. It is most popularly known for its retirement community, Lagoon City (Ontario’s little venice) with its man made canal system built in 1971 and quality farmland. The primary industries are tourism, farming and local enterprise

The town has all the necessities of a small town, such as a Foodland, Tim Hortons, LCBO, Legion, Ultramar, schools and churches. The town is also a central meeting location for the area’s youth where they partake in numerous recreational activity involving the town’s proximity to the lake.

The area has gained rapid popularity from Ontario’s Kite Boarding community.  The shallow, sandy public beaches make it the perfect destination on a windy day. Kiteboarders travel from all regions of Ontario to hit the Brechin waves.

Miles of shoreline properties, clean water, public beaches, cottage rentals, summer resorts, family camping, sporting activities, Casino Rama, conference centres (Geneva Park and Fern Resort), as well as, retirement/resort communities (Lagoon City and Bayshore Village).  Ramara is proud of its strong agricultural and resource extraction industries.
